To make it easy to begin growing medicinal herbs, we offer a collection of 6 plants that are safe, easy to grow and easy to use.
Peppermint (Mentha piperita) Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)
Catnip (Nepeta cataria) Self-Heal (Prunella vulgaris)
Chamomile, Perennial (Anthemis nobilis) or Narrow-leaf Echinacea (Echinacea augustifolia )
Calendula ((Calendula officinalis) Annual
Another collection is available for those needing herbs that especially give support during colds and flu. Six plants may be chosen from the following list:
Perennial ( Anthemis nobilis) Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum) Echinacea (Echinacea augustifolia)
Elecampane (Inula helenium) Catnip (Nepeta cataria)
Peppermint (Mentha piperita) Broad-leaf Sage (Salvia officinalis)
For those who would like herbs that are helpful in first aid situations, a collection of 6 may be chosen from this list:
Comfrey ( Symphytum officinale) Marshmallow (Althea officinalis)
Calendula (Calendula officinalis) Bugle (Ajuga reptans)
St. Johnswort (Hypericum perforatum) Self-heal (Prunella vulgaris)
Arnica (Arnica chamissonis) Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
And, of course, the herbs used especially for cooking! Again, six plants can be chosen from this list, but annuals are only available through July:
Basil ( Ocimum basillicum) Annual Oregano (Origanum vulgare)
Sweet, Purple Ruffles, Spicy Globe Sage (Salvia officinalis)
Chives (Allium schoenoprasum) Thyme (Thymus vularis)
